empathy-dbg software package provides GNOME multi-protocol chat and call client (debug symbols), you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install empathy-dbg
empathy-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the empathy-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep empathy-dbg *
You will get with empathy-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
